Salhane
Salhane is undoubtedly one of the most special places on the island. At one end of the island centre, far from the houses, it draws attention with its yellow building among the rocks. The building, which was used as a slaughterhouse in the past, was restored by the island architect Bülent Sucu and turned into a bar.
Salhane is popular as a beach-cafe during the day and a bar at night.
Salhane, with its location behind the castle, is also one of the ideal places to swim in the center of the island. Thanks to its wide wooden pier built in 2021, the place took on a beach-like atmosphere. It has become a comfortable place where you can swim in the center of the island with its umbrellas and sun loungers placed on the pier during the day and the stairs leading down to the sea. It adds flavor to your beach pleasure with snacks such as hamburgers and beer plates in its menu.
Thousands of stars in the background at night, the castle in all its majesty before you, the full moon hitting the sea, is the expression of the impressive view of this bar. Climbing on the rock in front of the bar on nights when there is no moon, or watching the stars on your lucky day, or witnessing a boulder, can make you fall in love with the island.
