Beyşehir Lake National Park
Beyşehir Lake National Park is Turkey's largest national park near Lake Beyşehir. According to the compiled information, the national park, which was established in 1993 by the decision of the Council of Ministers, covers an area of 88,750 hectares. There are 40 national parks with a total area of 897 thousand 657 hectares in Turkey, which is under protection under the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks. The largest of these national park areas is the Beyşehir Lake National Park. Beyşehir Lake, Turkey's largest fresh water source, has two national parks, Beyşehir and Kızıldağ. Beyşehir Lake National Park is among the most important natural places attracting visitors in Turkey. The forest formation of Beyşehir national park consists of juniper, larch, fir, cedar and oak species. The trees reach the edge of the lake in places, giving the bays and gulfs of Beyşehir Lake a visually unique view. The high-value landscape beauty, the fact that it is a good shelter for migratory birds, the presence of lake shores suitable for sports based on potential lake waters, and the cultural richness of the Seljuk period make the resource values of Beyşehir Lake National Park even more important.
