Saklıkapı Canyon

Located within the borders of Akuşağı village of Baskil district of Elazığ, "Saklıkapı Canyon" was formed by the Sığdin Stream, one of the tributaries of the Euphrates River. This natural wonder, which fascinates those who see it with its karstic formations, natural and interesting surface forms, consists of high slopes at the base of this canyon. Fossilized remains of creatures that lived under the sea millions of years ago were found in the falling rock blocks.It is approximately 3000 meters long, its height varies between 5 and 150 meters and its width varies between 1 and 50 meters. It is a unique trekking track for lovers.It also offers a great potential in terms of alternative tourism types and tourism diversity.The canyon, which is 45 kilometers away from Baskil town center, can be reached both by road and by boat over the Euphrates River.
