Tazı Canyon

Tazı Canyon (Wisdom Valley) is a canyon valley located in the Gaziler village of Beşkonak Mahallesi, Manavgat district of Antalya province. Located within the borders of Köprülü Canyon National Park, Tazı Canyon was formed by the erosion of the Köprüçay Stream. It is estimated that the formation of the canyon dates back to the ice age. It was formed by carving the inside of the limestone rocks in non-calcareous regions as a result of the ice masses separating and melting and creating erosion with great energy and releasing itself into the valleys. The length of the canyon is 4 km, its width is 30-50 m, and its side height is 300-400 meters. Although the Hound Canyon has been known by the local people living in the region for a long time, it was discovered by travelers 3-4 years ago and has become one of the most popular travel routes in recent years. Mediterranean climate vegetation in the region is dominated by maquis. Pure Cypress, Cedar wood, Taurus Fir, Black Pine, Red Pine, Juniper maquis species are found.
