Gökgöl Cave
Gökgöl Cave is a place that should definitely be on your list of places to visit in Zonguldak. With a length of 3 thousand 350 meters, the cave has the distinction of being the tenth longest cave in Turkey. Gökgöl Cave, located on the Zonguldak-Ankara road, is very close to the center of Zonguldak. Opened in 2001, the cave hosts thousands of tourists every year as it is the most striking one among the caves of Zonguldak. Noting that most visitors come here for treatment purposes, we should add that the micro-climate feature is good for asthma patients since the temperature and humidity inside the cave do not change much. There is an 875-meter walking path in the cave, which consists of the Great Depression Hall, the Fossil Entrance, the Asthma Hall, the Hall of Wonders and the Hall of Miracles, as well as many floors. Gokgol Cave, which has an underground stream that has an increasing flow in rainy periods, also has stalactites, stalagmites and columns formed by their combination. In addition, there are dripstones, macaroni stalactites, cave roses, cave needles and dripstone pools filled with water.
