St. Bartholomew's Church

It is located in Albayrak Village of Başkale District. The church and jamatun, built on a hill overlooking the Great Zap Valley, were built on the same date. According to the most common belief, the church was built on the tomb of Saint Bartholomeus in the 4th century. Based on reference information about the monastery, it is accepted that the church and jamatun were built in the late 13th and early 14th centuries.

According to the colophon of the 1457 manuscript book, the structures were decorated by Archpriest Kirakos.
