Cumhuriyet Square Kastamonu

Cumhuriyet Square is a square located in Kastamonu, Turkey. It is the largest square in the city. It is one of the two important squares in Kastamonu together with Nasrullah Square. It has been shown as one of the three most beautiful squares in Turkey. There are many historical public buildings around it. The most important ones are Architect Vedat Tek's Government Office, Kastamonu University Rectorate Building, Rıfat Ilgaz Cultural Center and Kastamonu Military Office Building. There is an amphitheater in the square and the Atatürk and Şerife Bacı Monument, which symbolizes the independence struggle. Along with the urban transformation works, it is planned to demolish the reinforced concrete structures separating Cumhuriyet Square from Nasrullah Square and to combine these two historical squares.
