Austrian Honorary Consulate
The Austrian Honorary Consulate in Mersin is authorized for Austrian Consular transactions such as marriage, divorce, document certification of people residing in its field of activity. The authority to decide on visa procedures for citizens of the Republic of Turkey and third country nationals traveling to Austria belongs to the Consulate General of Austria in Istanbul and the Embassy of Austria in Ankara. For this reason, the Austrian Honorary Consulate in Mersin, which is not authorized to accept visa applications, directs visa applications within its jurisdiction to the Austrian Embassy in Ankara.

The Austrian Consulate accepts short-term visa applications (except in exceptional cases) through the Visa Service Centers authorized by the Austrian Consulate and the Austrian Embassy.
However, in case of long-term Austrian visa (residence) applications, the application must be made in person at the Austrian Consulate or the Austrian Embassy. Austrian Tourist visa, Austrian Business visa, Austrian Family Visit visa and Austrian transit visa applications can be made through companies authorized by the Austrian Consulate.
Even if the Austrian visa application is made to intermediary institutions, the authority to evaluate and approve the applications belongs to the Austrian Consulate.
