Belling
Bells and bell-making have a historical past in Anatolia. Anatolian people adopted the bell as a means of communication and bell-making as a profession. The bell has taken its place in Turkish Culture as a means of sleeping and entertaining in the cradles of children, an ornamental tool in the saddles and headdresses of horses, and a means of communication on the necks of sheep and goats. Bell-making is a handicraft that has been going on for many years in Anatolia. This art has also found widespread use in the Bor district of Niğde. Bell-making, which was used for twelve months of the year, now exists as a handicraft made only in the summer months.
