Bursa Silk Weaving
The spread of silkworm breeding and silk production in the 15th and 17th centuries made Bursa the center of silk fabrics. Fabrics such as silk satin, velvet, woven with silk, gold and silver threads, the weft and warp of which were traditionally woven on the looms, met the fabric needs of the Palace under the supervision of the Ottoman Palace, and adorned the European Palaces through silk and fabric merchants. As a reflection of Bursa's silk trade on economic life, Koza Han and İpek Han brought it to the city architecture. Today, Koza Han and İpek Han operate as places where silk and cotton fabrics are sold.
