Carpet Weaving
The most important feature of Sivas carpet is that it is completely wool, densely textured and fine pile. Since the warp thread is very twisted and thin, the number of loops is high. In order to have a dense texture, the loops are compressed by hitting hard with the kilt after each row. In order to be soft, the loops are scanned in both rows. On the Sivas carpet, which is mostly woven with Iranian (sine) knots, traces of the pattern character of Seljuk and Persian carpets are seen, and according to the pattern, it takes names such as "lalezar", "çeşmibulbul", "snake" and "muddy". There are also those who bear the name of the region they touched. Another feature of the Sivas carpet is the avoidance of contrasting colors in the patterns. The most common colors in Sivas carpets, which are woven using at least 12 colors, are dark blue, red and its tones.
Sivas carpets are very famous. For two or three hundred years, this industry has been very developed.
