In the traditional sense of this branch of art, products have been produced in many settlements of Nevşehir. In places that had a suitable soil reserve a short time ago, items such as a tandoor, the lid of various pots and stoves were produced by the people's own means. However, this branch of art gave its products as a professional group in the mass production style in Avanos district. Pottery workshops have been a source of income for the people of Avanos for many years. In the past, water fountains, these jugs, pots and large jars were produced in these workshops. Today, due to the decrease in the usage areas of earthenware in the kitchens: By changing the functions of the products in Avanos workshops, they have turned to tourism-oriented souvenirs. Among the new production types, products such as vases, nameplates, goblet glasses were created.
