Dede Sultan Turkish Bath
The Historical Dede Sultan Bath, located on Atatürk Street in Astamonu province, Merkez district, at the intersection of Kaybılar Street and the avenue, is among the structures built during the Ottoman Empire Period. According to the information obtained and the sources available, the bath was built by the Mevlevi sheikh Dede Sultan in 920 Hijri/Gregorian 1524 and the Mevlevihane was established.From the rectangular planned, masonry wall and wooden roofed dressing room, the rectangular planned two-section warm room covered with three domes, and from there the rectangular planned central dome with two private rooms behind it, and the two sides covered with vaults, is entered.The building consists of 8 separate sections as dressing room, toilet, shaving, warm room, temperature, water tank, furnace and burial ground.
