Dengbejs (Folk Poets)
At weddings and entertainments, dengbêjs, that is, bards sing to each other, adding a different color and flavor to the entertainment. Traditionally, drums, zurna and kaval, also called pik or bilûr, are used in Hakkari weddings. Halays are performed with mutually sung folk songs called stran.
