The "Denizli Rooster", which is the symbol of Denizli, is a local breed that has made a name for itself in the farthest regions of our city with its harmonious long and beautiful crowing in terms of color and body structure. According to some, it is said that the long-crowing Berat roosters brought to Istanbul from Albania during the Ottoman Empire were brought to Denizli and crossed with local chickens in Denizli, but this is not true. Because there is no similarity between them in terms of color and body structure. Denizli Rooster is a breed that emerged spontaneously as a result of the care that people in this region have shown to long-crowing roosters for a long time.

Denizli Rooster's eyes should be black and permanent. The legs are dark gray or purple, the comb is ax-comb-shaped, the auricle is red or the general color with white spots on the red, black-dirty-white jointly mixed. Sometimes brown colors are found on the wing feathers. In red roosters, black and red are mixed together. Live weight is around 3-3.5 kilograms on average. Denizli Roosters are divided into three according to their color, body structure and comb shape. They are divided into 6 types according to their colors as Demirkır, Pamukkır, Henna, Al, Black and Fur. According to their body structure, there are 3 types: High neck, Pheasant, and Earring. According to the comb shape, there are 2 types as wide comb and narrow comb. Denizli Rooster's voice is also classified according to its tone and clarity. According to the tone of voice, it is divided into 3 as low, davudi and deep voice. The Davudi sound is a single sound between the low and the deep and approaching the deep voice. According to its quality, it is divided into 4 as clear sound, sad sound, screeching sound, wavy sound (sarcastic sound). The crowing of Denizli Roosters is performed by showing all the skills. Their crowings are divided into 4 according to their body position at the time of crowing: Lion Crowing, Wolf Crowing, Yigit Crowing, Pus Crowing. In a good Denizli Rooster, the appearance should be lively legs, a long and strong chest, a wide and deep tail, and an upright inclination towards the head. The same characteristics are sought in chicken.

The crowing length of Denizli Roosters in the first year is 20-25 seconds. is happening. Denizli Roosters, which are raised by the Denizli breed production unit established under the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, are generally kept in a herd of 100 heads. After the breeding roosters are selected, the remaining ones are sold according to the demands coming from various parts of the country as of March, April, and chicks are sold in the province in March, April, May and June.
