Denizli Tavas Zeybek and Zeybek Music
Zeybek air, which represents the story of the resistance and struggle against injustice of the "Efes", which has an important place in folk tales in Anatolian culture, appears as a common folklore element in Denizli and its regions. Zeybek airs, which create a rich melodic structure with their various instrumental and verbal tunes, are played with drum-zurna, drum-clarinet or square saz and darbuka. Tavas Zeybeği, which continues to be kept alive in different regions of Denizli, tells the heroic stories of the ephemers with its unique tune, clothes and heavy figures. This cultural heritage, which has been passed down through generations, has been included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
