Eğirdir Apple
Apple is the most important fruit type of Eğirdir in the historical process. One of every four apples grown in Turkey is produced in Isparta, which is known as the capital of apples, and one out of every three apples grown in Isparta is produced in Eğirdir.
Red Delicious and Golden Delicious varieties, which have the largest share in apple production, are grown in almost all villages of Eğirdir. Apart from these, there are also gardens with varieties such as Gala, Granny Smith, Fuji, Braeburn and Cripps Pink. In addition, more than 400 apple species and/or varieties of domestic and foreign origin are kept under protection in the Fruit Research Institute operating within the district.
