Halay

Sivas Folk Dances are included in the "Halay" group and today Sivas is considered the central region of halay dances. Halays are played in a part of the Central Anatolian Region and in the Southeast Anatolian Region.

Unity and togetherness express solidarity. Halay is the expression of social life with gestures, mimics and figures, which differs from ordinary entertainment games due to its centuries-old character and structure.

Sivas Halays are different from other provinces with their introverted structure. The game layout, game forms, formations and gameplay are not very similar to other halay.

Sivas Girls' and Boys' plays are dazzling in terms of their unique attitude, style and aesthetic beauty. Girls and boys dance halay separately. Pied (mixed) arrangement is not seen in Sivas region. Some games are played indoors in the form of a pixilated series, within the family.
