Hand Woven Siirt Mohair Blanket
"Siirt Blanket", one of the most important handicrafts of Siirt, which has the regional characteristic of Southeastern Anatolia, is obtained by shearing the mohair, which is the main ingredient of the blanket woven on hand looms. After shearing, the mohair is made into balls and put up for sale. The mohair is separated by the blanket tradesmen according to the colors and types. Mohair has natural colors such as white, black, brown, marten and buff. It is formed by weaving the yarns obtained by spinning the cut mohair with kirman on special looms and shaping this weaving by hitting the steel comb.
