Kurtdereli Oil Wrestling
Balıkesir Oil Wrestling, which was held for the first time in 1959, started as a festive and oil wrestling tournament with the name "Kurtdereli Oil Wrestling" in memory of the famous Kurtdereli Mehmet in 1981, the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Wrestler, who has the title of "World Champion". This festival and oil wrestling has survived through various stages and is constantly renewed. Works are underway for Kurtdereli Oil Wrestling to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List by Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality.
