Lefkara Lace
Lefkara lace is an important type of embroidery in Northern Cyprus and is embroidered across the country. Before 1974, the Pano was produced in the mixed village of Lefkara. Brought to the north by Turkish Cypriot refugees after the occupation, it became popular everywhere and started to be sold in the historical center of North Nicosia, Büyük Han and Arasta. Lace is believed to be more than 700 years old and a synthesis of Venetian and Cypriot culture and has 7-8 surviving forms.
