Bar-making is a branch of art that is shaped by making embroideries on thin sticks, especially mouthpieces, pens, pen holders and other tools that can be of stick origin. Local sources date back to the 18th century the beginning of this traditional handicraft, which is known as "mouthpieces" or "sticks" in the Sivas region. According to some claims, this handicraft was discovered by a person named Sheikh Aziz Baba.
The sticks used as the main material in the production of Sivas mouthpieces and stick type products are obtained from the tree type called "Germişek or Karamuk", which is obtained from the regions of Tokat-Erzincan-Kars and Ağrı.
