Onyx Stone Processing
Stones have had a great impact on the daily life of Cappadocia since ancient times. Another area where stone is used apart from residences, places of worship and architecture is the production of ornaments.
Onyx stone, which is especially dense around Hacibektas, is in yellow, pink, red and white colors. There are also varieties with more than one color called veined stone. Onyx stone, on which various motifs are embroidered and shaped, is used for making personal ornaments and home accessories. In the past, it was used in the making of necklaces known as Delivery Stone, especially among the people affiliated with the Hacibektas convent.
