Rugmaking
The well-known handicrafts in our region are Eşme Rugs. However, as in our other regions, Eşme Rugs have undergone a major change. When we compare the old rugs that the people of Eşme made for their own needs in the past, examples of which can be found in mosques and masjids today, and the rugs they use in their homes today and woven by merchants for commercial purposes, there are quite a few changes in terms of dye and yarn quality. Eşme Rugs are generally grouped as Altınbaş, Collective-Freedom-Albaş-Selvili Namazlağ. In addition, a type of rug called "Gicky" was also made. The International Eşme Kilim Culture and Art Festival is held at the end of May every year.
