Saffron Flower
Safranbolu, which gave its name to Safranbolu, is a bulbous plant that has been used as a flower mound, spice and food dye since ancient times. The homeland of this plant, which is closely related to the crocus, is thought to be the Mediterranean and Iran. The saffron plant, which can be 20-25 cm tall on average, is planted in the form of an onion in August-September and blooms in October with funnel-shaped purple flowers. In the middle of the flowers are three-part, reddish-orange stigmas.
