Silk Weaving ( Carpet Rug )
Wool carpets are woven in Güneyköy, and Silk Carpets are woven in Sugören Village. Carpet weaving is a major source of income in Sugören village. The quality and weaving of the silk carpets woven in the village finds many buyers in Istanbul and Europe. Carpets are woven in a quality that can compete with the famous Persian rugs in terms of knots per centimeter. There are many stalls in the village for this purpose.
Young women and girls of the village demand this area and earn their livelihood in this way. Silk carpet weaving is carried out in 2-3 different workshops in the village, according to the number of stitches and m2 calculation, upon the orders of the carpet makers operating in the Istanbul Grand Bazaar.
