Spoon Making
The spoon is a kind of table tool for eating. Spoonmaking is the production of these tools by means of various tools and techniques from raw materials such as metal, bone and wood. The masters who practice this profession are called "spoon maker" or "spoon master". Spoons, which consist of two parts, the handle and the mouth, can be divided into different groups according to the types of food. They can also be ornamental or game spoons.
Saws, cuts, rasps, knives, scrapers and sandpaper are the main tools used in making spoons. The most preferred type of wood for spoon making is boxwood. However, tree species such as elm, oak, juniper and pine can also be used for this purpose.
