Stale Rugs

One of the settlements in Anatolia of the Bayat tribe, a branch of the Oghuzs, is the Bayat District of Afyonkarahisar. Rug weaving has a cultural significance in the Bayat tribe as it is in the Oghuzes. Bayat Kilims, which have an important historical background, are emerging as an important product that contributes to the cultural texture and economy of Afyon today. Handmade rugs that adorn the dowry of young girls continue to be produced without disturbing the historical and cultural tradition. Bayat Kilims, produced using pure wool yarn and natural plant root dye, attract the attention of visitors with their rich motifs. It has been registered that the 100% wool raw material used in stale rugs will retain their color for 120 years without fading, and it is the first and only patented rug in Turkey.
