Tokat Manuscript
Tokat yazma, yazmas specific to Tokat produced by Tokat yazma, a handicraft specific to Tokat. Yazıma is the name given to prints printed on cloth and various fabrics according to the customs and traditions of that region. Since yazma is very developed in Tokat, its unique motifs have emerged. Yazıma specific to Tokat is generally of the type of gauze. In the center of Tokat, women draw lace on the type of yazma called kâğıt iç. There is another type of yazma called kandilli in the region. Each district in Tokat has its own unique pattern. These patterns are obtained by carving using wooden molds. The mold master who prepares the mold carves the desired pattern and motif by hand labor.
