Weaving Wicker Chair
In 1921, weaving wicker chairs was started using the leaves of corn cobs and it developed in the region. It is seen that the braid, which connects the four legs of the chair and has herringbone and wicker weave types, has been made with ropes obtained from ivy, corn stalk and corn seedlings for many years. This tradition, which continues in the region today, is mostly made with ropes made of synthetic fibers. Craftsmen who continue to weave beach and picnic baskets from willow branches and sell them as touristic items.
