Yatağan Machete
The tradition of pala making in the Yatağan (Town) District of Denizli's Serinhisar District since the 1,400s, the machetes made entirely of stainless steel by hand and identified with the name Yatağan, entered the literature as "Yatağan". Known as the "Turkish Sword" all over the world, the yatatans are also mentioned as an eye-catching work of art as well as their sharpness and durability. The swords used by the Ottoman Empire in the wars, and the knives and machetes called Yatan, which were used especially in the conquest of Istanbul, were produced here. It continues to be produced today.
