Atasu Dam

Atasu Dam was started to be built between 1998 and 2010 on the Galyan Stream in Trabzon for the purpose of energy and drinking water supply. And the construction has been completed, and now the dam is filled to full capacity.

The body volume of the dam, which is a concrete and rock body fill type, is 3.800.000 m³, its height from the river bed is 118.00 m., the lake volume at normal water level is 35.75 hm³, and the lake area at normal water level is 0.83 km². While the dam provides 91 hm³ of drinking water per year, it also produces 27 GWh of energy with 5 MW of power annually.
