Samsun Derbent Dam

Derbent Dam is a dam built by the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works between 1984-1990 for irrigation and flood control purposes on Kızılırmak in the Bafra district of Samsun. The body volume of the dam, which is a rock body fill type, is 2.500.000 m³, its height from the river bed is 33.00 m, the lake volume at normal water level is 213.00 hm³, and the lake area at normal water level is 16.50 km². While the dam irrigates an area of 47,727 hectares, it produces 257 GWh of energy annually with 58 MW of power.
