Ağın

Ağın is a district of Elazığ province. It is famous for its chickpeas. According to the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the network is at the top of the list of "oldest districts" in the country, with the ratio of those aged 65 and over to its total population. The network is surrounded by Keban Dam in the east, Erzincan in the north, Malatya in the west and Keban district in the south. The district center of Ağın was established within these low plateau surfaces, which extend between 900-1100 m in average, and the bottomed valleys of the Beyelma Stream coming from the north and the Akpınar Stream coming from the west just before they reach the Keban Dam Lake. At the same time, this part is located in the north of the bay, which was formed by the filling of the valley excavated by Ağın Stream, which was formed by the merging of these two streams, by the Keban Dam Lake today. With the construction of Keban Dam Lake, the district gained a peninsula appearance.
