Ağlasun

The settlement in the district dates back to ancient times. There is the ancient city of Sagalassos, 7 km northwest of the town centre. During the reign of Dündar Bey, he joined the Hamitoğulları Principality. It joined the Ottoman lands in 1472. In the 1500-1501 Ottoman records, Ağlasun is mentioned as a township consisting of 9 villages and a Yörük community. It is one of the three sub-districts of Burdur in the records of 1910. In 1951, the name of the "Belönü" township, which was connected to the central district of Burdur, was changed to "Ağlasun", which is also the name of the town centre. Ağlasun became a district in 1958.
