Akpınar is a district of Kırşehir Province.

It became a district in July 1987. Its area is 528 km², and its height is 1,150 meters. There are 1 municipality, 6 neighborhoods and 26 villages in the district.

The district is suitable for development as it is on the state highway. The income level of the people, whose main livelihood is agriculture and animal husbandry, is low. Agricultural land is rugged. It is the greenest district of Kırşehir province. It is especially known for its clean air and its cold and clean water that flows in all seasons. The walnut of the district is famous for its quality and taste. A part of the population of the district earns their living by working abroad. Especially in the Netherlands, France and Germany, the workers are in the majority. Thanks to its masters engaged in cold smithing in construction works, Turkey's most experienced cold smiths come from this district. There are many workers who do business especially in Turkic countries.
