Alacakaya

Alacakaya is a town in the province of Elazığ. It is a settlement center formed by the establishment of an operating facility by Etibank in 1935 and the settlement of the people employed in the business. Alacakaya, which developed and grew with the expansion of the activity area of ​​the chrome enterprise over time, was converted into a town municipality on 30 December 1986, while it was a village connected to Maden. Alacakaya gained the status of a district with the law published in the official gazette dated 20.05.1990 and numbered 20523. In the district, "cherry marble" is extracted, which is exported to various parts of the world. The region is mountainous and the district center is established on the plain between the hills.
