Aslanapa
Aslanapa is a district of Kütahya province. While it was the District Center of the Central District before, it became a district with Şaphane and Dumlupınar during the Özal period. It is one of the smallest district centers of the province and Turkey. Its population is 1,893. There are many opinions on the name. Especially the word "apa" comes from the word oba and means Aslan oba etc. There are rumors.
The meaning and historical development of the name Aslanapa is as follows, as explained by Dumlupınar University Faculty Members and the valuable archive researcher and literary scholar Cevdet Dadaş, whose help we have seen in our access to archival documents. Turks, who have aimed to dominate the world since the earliest times, have always honored their elders with words or titles such as Ata, Hodja, Baba, Aba and Beğ due to their beliefs, culture and customs. Among them, there are names such as Arslan Baba, Korkut Ata and Shepherd Ata, whose memories live as holy figures. These names are the names of epic figures who were once given great spiritual ranks and whose effects were reflected in the soul of the nation and engraved in the national memory.
It is seen that Apa, which also means brother, elder brother, is used together with Arslan to indicate a proper name. All these show that the rumors among the people that Aslanapa was founded on the plain and then Aslanapa instead of Aslan's plain are nothing more than an ascription.
In Aslanapa district, which is 45 km away from the city center of Kütahya, there is no social environment other than a coffee house. There is still no natural gas stove in the district. In 2019, a clock tower and a small health center (district hospital) were built in the district.
