The lively fish market in the center of Beşiktaş, located on the seaside, is surrounded by a labyrinth of narrow streets. Neighborhood shops, cozy bars and unpretentious restaurants are lined up side by side on these streets. The ostentatious 19th-century Dolmabahçe Palace and Maritime Museum overlook the Bosphorus. Locals flock to the food market on Saturdays. It is possible to find picnic spots in the nearby Abbasağa and Yıldız parks.
