Beyşehir

Beyşehir is a district of Konya Province. It is the fifth largest district of Konya.

The history of Beyşehir and its surroundings dates back to the 7000s. There are finds from the Old and Middle Stone Age in the region. But mostly the Neolithic Age finds are concentrated. Researches have revealed the fact that Beyşehir was an important settlement area at that time.

Due to being the center of the principality, it is known as the brain city with the passing of time. Therefore, it takes the name Beyşehir. The name Beyşehir also has a legendary story. According to this, Seydi Harun Veli in Trogitis is now having the mosque named after him built. Eşrefoğlu Mehmet Bey also helps him with materials. Subsequent events make them friends. While Eşrefoğlu named Trogitis Seydişehir, Seyyid Harun Veli named Süleymanşehir Beyşehir.
