Çardak

Çardak is a district of Denizli Province.

The district center was founded in 1105 as a Turkmen tribe named Körin, at the foot of the Maymun Mountain, and later moved to its present settlement.

Çardak was a small village in the Middle Ages, where the people made their living from animal husbandry. Village people at the foot of Monkey Mountain, to protect their animals from the heat of the sun; He was taking precautions by having canopies called Çardak built on the front or sides of the houses. Just south of this small Turkmen village, other villagers passing by the caravan route called it "Çardaklı Village". This name was also adopted by the local Turkmens and thus the name of the village remained as Çardak.
