Cumayeri

Cumayeri is a district of Düzce. The villages of Çevrik and Yeniyaka were merged on March 29, 1968 and a town municipality was established under the name of Cumayeri. Cumayeri merged with the town of Gümüşova on July 4, 1987 and gained the status of a district under the name of Cumaova. In December 1993, the name of the district, which was Cumaova, was changed to Cumayeri and it was separated from Gümüşova and became an independent district in the province of Bolu. Cumayeri was connected to Düzce with Düzce becoming a province in December 1999.
