Doğubayazıt

Doğubayazıt, or formerly Bayazıt (Kurdish: Bazîd‎, Armenian: Արշակավան, romanized: Arşakavan), is a district of Ağrı province, the center of the same district, and today the former center of Bayazıt province, whose name was changed to Ağrı after its center was moved to Karaköse. It was established in the east of Anatolia, on the European E-road E80 transit road. It is connected to Ağrı and 93 km east of the central district, 35 km from Iran. District lands are generally hilly and high. The district center was established on the plain. It is the oldest and historical district of Ağrı. It was established in the southeast of the plain that bears its name.
