Dörtyol is one of the districts of Hatay. Its population is 127,989 people and in this respect, it is 192 among 922 districts and 51 central districts, and 4th in the province. In the socio-economic development index, it ranks 255 in the country and 4th in the province. The district consists of the Dörtyol and Payas Alluvial plains extending in the North-South direction between the Nur Mountains (Amanos), the extension of the Eastern Taurus Mountains, and the Iskenderun Bay of the Mediterranean. It is surrounded by Nur Dağlan and Hassa district in the east, the Mediterranean Sea and İskenderun Bay in the west, Erzin district in the north and İskenderun district in the south. its climate; The summers are hot and dry, the winters are warm and rainy, and a typical Mediterranean climate prevails. Precipitation in the district is in the form of rain, and it is one of the centers that receive the most precipitation after Rize in Turkey. The height of the district center from sea level is 70 m. The most precipitation falls in February, March, April and December, and the least precipitation falls in August. In the district, snow falls on high mountainous areas.
