Düzköy

Düzköy is a district of Trabzon province.

Locally named "Haçka", the settlement became a parish in 1944, and in 1961 its name was changed and a municipality was established with the name "Düzköy". While it was a municipality of the Akçaabat district, it gained the status of a district in accordance with the law numbered 3644 dated 9 May 1990.

It is 40 km from the central district of Trabzon. Apart from the six central districts, namely Tepecik, Yeni Mahalle, Cevizlik, Orta Mahalle, Büyük Mahalle and Düzalan, Aykut, Alazlı, Çal, Çayırbağı, Çiğdemli, Gökçeler, Küçüktepe and Taşocağı constitute the surrounding neighborhoods of the district.

In the district, which has a scattered settlement structure, each family has built their house on one side of their field or garden. It can be understood at first glance that even cemeteries are suitable for this distribution. This scattered settlement is due to the land structure and increases the cost of services.

Plateaus and hamlets (local nomenclature: mezere) are important in terms of population movements. Most of the people migrate to hamlets or plateaus from April to early autumn.
