Edirnekapı
Edirnekapı is one of the most recognisable districts of Istanbul. It is within the borders of Eyüpsultan and Fatih Districts. It forms one of the city wall gates of Istanbul. It is the gate where Fatih Sultan Mehmed entered the city on horseback at the head of his army with Akşemseddin on Friday morning, three days after the conquest of Istanbul.

Mihrimah Sultan Mosque, built by Mimar Sinan on the orders of Mihrimah Sultan, daughter of Suleiman the Magnificent, is located here. Beylik Waterway and Sarmaşık Aya Dimitri Greek Orthodox Church are also located in this neighbourhood.
