Erbaa
Erbaa is a district of Tokat in Turkey and the city of the district. According to 2021 data, the population of the city is 73,354 and the district is 99,815 and is the highest population district of the province after Tokat. Fertile Erbaa Plain, location, job opportunities, industry and important factors such as OIZ is a district of attraction of the region that continues to receive migration. The word erbaa is Arabic and means "four". In the records of the Ottoman Empire, it is seen that Erbaa was used since the beginning of the 18th century. At one point, this word was used as "nevahi-i erbaa". The most important settlements among Niksar-Amasya in the period of Mevzubbahis; Erek was Karayaka, Sonusa and Taşâbat. In terms of population, it was only the size of a sub-district and in the same region. In fact, the accrued taxes have been recorded with this name. H.1256/m. In 1840, the tax of these four sub -districts under the name of Erbaa was 47.243 cents. Accordingly, Erbaa; Erek, Karayaka, Sonusa and Taşâbat have been a general name, four of them suddenly took the appearance of a district. In fact, the accident-i erbaa tâbiri was also used in official. Then, when the erek showed more development than the others, Erbaa became the district in 1872 by taking the name of it alone. The remaining three, ie Taşâbat, Karayaka and Sonusa, were connected to Erek, that is, Erbaa and became his villages. Later, in 1944, Taşabat, namely Taşova, was separated from Erbaa and was a separate district and was connected to Taşova.
