In the first years of the Republic, while there was only the central district of Istanbul in Suriçi, later on, its area of responsibility was divided into two as Fatih and Eminönü. In 2008, Eminönü district was dissolved and joined to Fatih, and a single district was formed on the historical peninsula. Fatih district, the historical center of Istanbul, is one of the most vibrant tourism and economy points. Golden Horn in the north; Marmara Sea to the south, the Bosphorus to the east; It is adjacent to Zeytinburnu and Eyüpsultan districts in the west.
