Gazi Mihal, who served in the establishment of the Ottoman Empire, is important. The name of Gazi Mihal is still kept alive in a primary school and district bath. There is another primary school built in the name of pilot captain Cengiz Topel, one of the air martyrs, in the district. The people, who sent and lost many young people in the Dardanelles Wars, were not invaded by the enemy in the Turkish War of Independence as a result of the excessive elevation of the Sakarya River. Local people in the region are also called Manav and macirlar. Üyükler, Kocakamas, Bölükbaşılar (Sütçüler), Köseler, Ayazlar, Eyüpağalar, Alapans, Keskinağalar, Hacımollalar, Kayalar, Kazımağalar, Kadıoğulları and Karaşükrü are the main family nicknames from past to present. Due to being close to Bilecik district center and economic inadequacies, the district gives migration. In the Development Plans of Special Provincial Administration, agricultural diversity is increasing in the district, which is separated as an agricultural region and located in the Rural Development band, together with Yenipazar District. Foreign investors have started to operate in the district with the lands that have changed hands. Foreign investors are taking positions in the district, which offers opportunities for ecological agriculture. With its clean water resources and soil richness, ecological agriculture is developing in the district, which has different biodiversity at altitudes from 150 meters to 800 meters. Ecological livestock farming is an important opportunity in the county, which has large pastures.
