Gömeç

It is a district of Balıkesir province on the Aegean Sea coast. Gömeç, which is the smallest district of Balıkesir with its surface area, is the third smallest district after Marmara and Balya with a population of 15,207.

It has borders with Burhaniye in the north and in the past, Edremit Bay in the north, Ayvalık in the south and Bergama district of İzmir in the southeast.

The main source of the district, which is famous for the "Atatürk Rocks" and century-old plane trees, where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's silhouette is located, is the olive and olive oil operator. In addition, its jelly-like yoghurt, which is made from sheep's structures, is prone to the district.
